About Us

Adult Education Service Blanchardstown is part of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB North West).

The Adult Education Service offers full time and part-time learning opportunities to the community.

  • We provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment.
  • Tutors have excellent knowledge and understanding of Adult Education.
  • In addition to class time, participants will be expected to undertake independent learning as part of the course: completing assignments, etc.
  • Participants of the Adult Education Service Blanchardstown can avail of additional support including Adult Guidance and Counselling.
  • Awards/Programmes and modules offered are subject to change.
  • All courses are subject to minimum numbers and sufficient funding.
  • Eligibility criteria and terms and conditions apply.

What We Do

We offer a wide range of programmes for learners at different learning levels.

We address basic Reading and Writing and we offer programmes equivalent to the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate.

We offer a variety of courses in specific vocational areas such as Childcare, Healthcare, Office Administration (Medical), Business Administration, ICT and Office Skills (QQI level 3-5).

We also offer a range of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) from beginners to Business English.

All our students receive educational, vocational and psychological support from our Guidance Service based on Main Street, Blanchardstown.

Certification

The Adult Education Service offers certification/awards from QQI - Quality and Qualifications Ireland which is a state agency established by the Quality Assurance and Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 2012.

Its functions include those previously carried out by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC); the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC); the Irish Universities Quality Board (IUQB) and the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI).

Quality Assurance

In the area of quality assurance, QQI is responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of quality assurance in further and higher education providers in Ireland.

Adult Education Quality Assurance

The Adult Education Service is committed to achieving excellence in all of its awards, within a framework of quality, good practice and accreditation. This policy approach interprets and reflects current QQI requirements. This strategy is based on a policy that values our participants and aims to provide a consistent, quality service to meet their needs. We will endeavour to continue to build on our experience and progress and adapt on an on-going basis to the changing needs of our students.
